Restoration of CR1 Tractor

During 1944 at the height of WWII, the Australian Army desperate for tractors decided to build their own. The result is CR1. The tractor was based on the Caterpillar D7-4T and is so perfect a replica that only an expert can tell it from the original.

After sitting for the last 30 years under the trees she is now undergoing a full restoration at the Wollongong workshops of Cleary Bros (Bombo). Cleary Bros also own their own magnificent collection of fully restored Cat's from the 1918 Holt to the 1955 D8.

Follow the restoration at www.picturetrail.com/caterpillar
